Jennifer Lopez was born in 1969 to a family of Puerto Rican descent. Lopez took dance lessons throughout her childhood, and at age 16 she made her film debut through a tiny part on the film My Little Girl (1986). In 1991 Lopez got her break on television when she was cast in In Living Color as a professional dancer. Lopez took on the role of the main character in the law-enforcement procedural Shades of Blue (2016-18) as the role of a police officer in conflict. Second Act (2018) was her comedic role, where she portrayed the female character who is offered an important job at the Manhattan company after her friends improve their resumes. Lopez joined a predominantly female cast in Hustlers in 2019, a movie about strippers who plan against wealthy clients. In 2022, she appeared in two comedies with marriage themes. After discovering her fiance had been cheating, she gets married to the math instructor at her show.
