Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Early Broadway parts included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh, Tony Award-winning actress and director, has spent the majority of her professional career working alongside prominent directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford has been working on Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. As a Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney Digital Television's channels. Ashford is set to return in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the national crisis that swept across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. She also appeared in the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Not a stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the character that was originally played by Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford is a Denver native who now divides her time between Los Angeles.
